The University of Denver Museum of Anthropology will host "Life Bringers: Preserving the Tradition of Katsinam"
from March 1-April 6, 2007.
The exhibit will explore themes of repatriation and the commercialism surrounding the Katsina religion of the western pueblos of northern Arizona and New Mexico. "Life Bringers" will feature Katsina dolls from personal collections as well as from the University of Colorado Museum of Natural History and the Hiwan Homestead Museum.
The exhibit is curated by Jonathan McMahon
The opening reception will take place on March 1, 2007 from 5-7 p.m.
The reception will feature a demonstration by Hopi Katsina doll carver Philbert Honanie.
